I recently did research on the Ft.Worth,Texas cams that will activate in January after the December warning month. The media were "totally clueless" about the "right-turn-lane" being part of the Red Light Cam program. 2 reporters contacted me(one by email and another by cellphone)inquiring about "How could the cams determine speed of a right turn with still photos?". I explained that the government has a program that is similar to MSN Movie Maker that can place still photos in sequence and calibrate speed of vehicle to MPH they are traveling. I also explained that local media in Lubbock FAILED to even understand or inform public about the "right-turn-lane" aspect of the Red Light Cams UNTIL yours truly read a Letter To Editor about the "slow-right-turn-ticket-scam" and called all FOUR local stations and local print media and requested a COMPLETE CLINIC on the "right-turn-lane" tickets being issued. I informed both reporters that Lubbock issued 1400 tickets in the first month and over 90% were for "slow-right-turns" NOT blatant "red light runners". I also sent them info that documented that cams had forced drivers to STOP before turning right thus DOUBLING rear-end collisions.

Ft.Worth media may have been "transfixed" on the straight-ahead lanes and NOT been "in-the-loop" on the right turn lane part of Red Light Cam scam. Ft.Worth has currently installed as many and maybe more Red Light Cams than Lubbock.
